Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

injured at work

i have been injured at work and i have went to my employers dr. but all he has done is put me on light duty . i was told to write a satement on how i was hurt i hurt my back but i have not seen a form i want to know if this s normal.

You need to file a NC Industrial Commission Form 18 with the NC Industrial Commission, copying your employer, ASAP. You can download a blank form from our Resource Library at ncworkcomp.com, or at the NCIC website (see our Links page). Also print a Bulletin for more info on how the system works, and call an experienced attorney if they start jerking you around.

As for your job, I would write a simple statement informing them of the injury ASAP, including date, time, witnesses, location etc. Just the basic facts. Date the note and keep a copy for yourself.
