Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

If an 'injured' worker has a proven pre-existing injury, the doctor says there is nothing wrong with him but the worker insists on seeing a specialist, is the claim remotely valid?

Pre-existing injuries are not really relevant to NC comp cases. If the doctor says nothing is wrong, it could be because the doctor is bought and paid for already by the employer or the insurance company. We see that pretty often, especially at "doc in a box" type places. Especially if the doc is NOT a specialist.

The claim could be very valid.
