You need to report your injury to your employer in writing ASAP. You also need to file a Form 18 with the NC Industrial Commission in Raleigh ASAP. You can go to the NCIC website and print off a Form 18, or your employer can give you one. In any event, get a Bulletin off the NCIC website that explains the system in clear language. You will need a specific event and/or occupational disease allegation to win any benefits more than likely. If you have a valid claim, the workers' compensation carrier will provide medical treatment for your injury and limited wage loss benefits.
