Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

My wife is a teacher in NC. She was injured on the job in a act of violence by a student. What are her options besides seeking medical treatment through workers comp?

Workers' compensation will pay for medical bills, medical mileage, scripts, wage loss benefits and possible permanent partial disability. In fact, there is a special law that governs these types of claims involving teachers and classroom violence that provides for enhanced benefits. She needs to file claim with NC Industrial Commission ASAP on Form 18, as well as read their Bulletin for more information (both available on NCIC website). You can link to NCIC website from our site at ncworkcomp.com.

While other legal options may exist, this is likely to be the most viable claim. Consult a personal injury attorney to discuss other legal options soon.
