Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

work injury

injured at work in late 08 and now was reinjured recently was told by manager to take aspirin. went to dr was told it stemmed from prior injury that was covered by worker comp...does company have to pay dr bill or do i?

Although more facts are needed to fully address the situation, I can offer this point: if the subsequent problem was a natural and probable consequence of the original injury, then the workers' compensation carrier needs to pay. You may also have a new injury compensable in its own right.

Make sure you have filed a NCIC Form 18 with the NC Industrial Commission ASAP. Also review the Bulletin, both of which can be found on the IC website. You can link to the IC website from our site, which has other helpful information as well, at: ncworkcomp.com.
