workers comp issues

Injured back 11/04, MMI rated at 10%, permament restrictions of not lifting over 7#s and no crawling, bending ,stooping, squatting, prolonged standing or sitting. In lot of pain w/c won't send me to Dr. Forced back to school for retraining, after 36 years as nurse. 56 year old with constant back pain and numbness, unable to concentrate or focus or retain new info. Does w/c have to continue to provide medical care for back until claim settled, and can I force them to settle now?

Re: workers comp issues

You have a complicated, but typical, situation in which you are being abused by the vocational rehabilitation process with a view toward ending your claim. Some of your rights are explained at ncworkcomp.com. Also use the link to the Industrial Commission.

I strongly recommend that you get an experienced workers' comp attorney right away. Good luck!
