If I was hurt at work, and the doctor wrote for me to be out of work, do I get paid for the days I have to miss?

Yes, if you miss more than 7 days and you have an otherwise compensable claim. Typically you get 2/3rds your gross AWW calculated over the 52 weeks preceding your date of injury - tax free.

I suggest you get a Bulletin to read and a Form 18 to file from the NC Industrial Commission ASAP. You can link from our site at ncworkcomp.com.
