Yes, you are supposed to be paid 2/3 of your average weekly wage by your employer's workers' comp insurance company. Of course, that is assuming the insurance co. has accepted your claim.

Usually if you are out for more than 7 days due to a work-related injury or occupational disease, you can receive temporary total disability benefits (2/3 of your gross average weekly wage)during the time you are out. If you are out more than 21 days, you get credit for the first 7 day waiting period. Other benefits are available in most cases.

You should speak with a qualified attorney for more details. At the very least, go to the NC Industrial Commission website and read the Bulletin.
