Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Dakota

Can a 17 year old legaly buy a car.

My 17 year old daughter bought a car from somebody she works with. She was told by both of her parents she could not buy it until her parents looked at it. My biggest question is do I have to keep this car and what if the person she bought it from who is about 35 years old and should have known better. If it is illegal does the person that sold the car get to keep the money.

I think you will need an adult on the certificate of title. You should check with the ND Dept of Motor Vehicles first. Are you buying for cash?

Are you buying through a dealer or private party?

If for cash through a private party it may be easier.
