Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Dakota
Mail order package
I placed an order with an company. Specifically, I sent in a piece of jewelry to get cleaned, graded, and inscribed. The company had a mix-up in their shipping department and sent me the wrong (more valuable) piece.
It was sent via the US Postal service Registered mail to my name and address.
The contents of the package was of much greater value than the item that I ordered. Am I under any legal obligation to return that item? The Company has offered ''compensation,'' but I'd like to know if I have any leverage to bargain with the next time they call to offer ''compensation.''

Re: Mail order package
Generally if you know it is a mistake you are under an obligation to return it.
