Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Dakota
used selling as new
I recently purchased an electronics item from a nationwide discount store. It was faulty and upon dealing with the manufacturer about repairs I found out I had actually purchased a used product. It had been used and return, and then sold to me as new. Is this illegal or can a company knowingly pass off used merchandise as new.

Re: used selling as new
That would violate consumer protection statutes. You should document your claim and obtain either a new product or full refund.
