Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Dakota
In 2008 I made a mistake in my cheking account and had two NSF checks. I immediately paid the two merchants directly in full. Later I received a notice from a check collection agency claiming that I owed them $30.00 for each of the checks for collection fees. They are agents of the merchants involved, however, when I paid the merchants I asked if there were any fees and as I said, I paid in full. Do I owe the funds to this agency? They are making threats etc.
I live in ND.

You can't fight this for $60, pay the fees. Remember what Clint Eastwood said in Unforgiven: "Deserve has got nothing to do with it."
