Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Dakota

ok, Back in december, i was at home and freinds and myself were chatting and we were a little intoxicated, one of my roommates ended up getting annoyed with me and out of no where he "snapped" in his words, and hit me, without me even knowing that it was coming, he then procceded to go to his car and drive to his parents house and not contact me for 3 days, i ended up having to go to the E.R. to get stiches. Now we had both been drinking and i was messing with him but nothing to the extent of which he did to me. I had asked him to pay for the bill and he said he would, then lead me on for months then telling me he was not going to pay for it, then i said ok could he pay for half and he then said no he was not going to pay any cause he thought that i deserved it and he did not think it was his fault. Am i able to recive any compinsation

You could report it to the police and he could be charged with assault. Or you could sue him in small claims court. In either case he may be ordered to pay.
