Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Dakota
A judgement in the amount of 2020.00 has been taken against me by an attorney for his client stating I owe this amount. What is this and do I have any recourse other than to pay it ? I do not believe I owe this to a credit card company, and have received no bill from them after I canceled their card over 5 years ago. I believed all amounts were paid in full . This just came in the mail today, I did NOT sign for it, but it has the seal of a county clerk and a signature claiming its validity. What next ?
Thank You very kindly

Is it a judgment or a notice they are taking you to small claims court? If it is a Judgment you need to hire a lawyer. If it is a notice you are being sued you need to respond to the notice.
