Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Dakota

I received a deferred sentence for three years, which has now expired. My attorney recently retired, and the business I work for was sold this week, and new ownership will not allow anyone with a conviction on their record to work there. Owing to health problems, I am severely limited in the types of jobs I can work at. Therefore, I need this off my record before my employer finds out about it. Is there anyway I can file a petition to the sentencing judge without hiring an attorney? What are the fees to file a dismissal motion? How should I word my letter to the judge?

You have asked a lot of questions. A petition to a Judge probably won't do anything. If your conviction was in ND, then check this web site to see if it shows up:

If it shows up there may be something that could be negotiated with a prosecutor, but it would probably take the assistance of an attorney. Good Luck.
