Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Dakota

Theft of property, 5 guns...again

More detailed question. My

boyfriend is 21 yrs. old and had a job

working with tractor parts and he

needed money so he stole 5 guns

from his boss. One of which was very

rare and the others just normal

shotguns. He sold them to one of his

friends and the police traced the

guns back to him, the guy he sold

them to sold 2 guns. 3 guns got back

to the guy, and the other 2 are

nowhere to be found. The guy he

stole from is pressing charges. He

served one night of jail time and was

bailed out after his hearing for $500.

He is hoping to get a lawyer for

$2500. What would be the possible

outcome of this?

could be a minimum of 1 year mandatory. I am not sure 2,500 is enough.

Re: Theft of property, 5 guns...again

The outcome all depends on what he is charged with, and who charged him. Because firearms are involved, the federal government could be involved, in which case he could face very serious prison time. All of this depends on too many variables. What county did he go to jail in?
