NSF check from employer

I cashed a check from my employer at a local bar and it bounced..Do i have to pay for the check and NSF charges ? If i dont can they charge me for it?

I assume that you received the full amount of the check in cash. The Bar could sue you or your employer for the money. In the end the bar will be entitled to the cash they paid you, plus their bank charges. It would require them to sue someone, either you or your employer, not a situation that would be pleasant for anyone involved.

Another concern is criminal charges. If a prosecutor had probable cause to believe you "knowingly" cashed a bad check, then you could face "Theft by Deception" charges. Or in the alternative your employer could face those charges.

It doesn't sound like a good situation, however I believe that your employer is the party ultimately responsible to the Bar, at least from the information provided.
