Puppy purchase

Is a contract between two people legal if it is not notorized? My husband signed a spay/neuter contract with the puppy breeder. The contract was signed two days after the purchase of the puppy and it states all kinds of whacky demands. We have to get the puppy spayed before she will turn over the AKC reg papers. She says she is still co-owner until the puppy is registered with the AKC??

Whether or not a contract is notarized does not matter. A contract need not even be in writing. I can not comment on the ownership of the puppy because I do know know the details of the contract.
