Legal Question in Employment Law in North Dakota

A question about employment law.

Hello sir/mam,

My question is I was told in the laws of NY state and/or federal laws someone can't discriminate you from getting hired if you go to full time college. While this might be not true, i would ask an educated opinion over just an opinion.

I went into Home Improvement Warehouse and filled out an online application, then I went to the paint counter to ask if they were hiring. I went right back for an interview. The next day I was called by an human resource manager and was asked about my availability. i told them my college schedule and she told me '' We only hire associates that have a ''full availability'' i said thanks and she hung up.

Do I have a case(not being ignorant at all)or is that fair?

I just felt cheated.

Thank you,

Re: A question about employment law.

If you cannot make a commitment to work the hours that they need and they're not looking to take on part time workers why should they be obligated to hire you?

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
