Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Dakota

Pets

I recently signed a lease for an apartment and then received a note from my doctor saying I should have a pet. The apartment I will be living in is a no-pets apartment and the landlord says absolutly no pets, even with my medical note. Is that legal? She offered me a different apartment, but I signed the lease for a specific apartment that I like. Please answer quickly. Thank you.
