Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Dakota

What are the steps (and order) to purchaseing a small piece of rural land from my neighbor? (aprox 1/2 acre) Do I need to survey it first, then agree on the price, file a quit claim deed, have it plotted with the county, pay the man...?
