Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Dakota
RE: Handicap Parking
Thanks for the info! In follow up. What should I do if I did get a ticket for being in this space? If I move my car, will I lose my right to fight the ticket? Would I call the police if I did get a ticket that wasn't deserved? How much would the ticket be? Also, it the law the same in Winona Minnesota (hometown)? Thanks again for your help!

Re: RE: Handicap Parking
If you get a ticket for this, bring the ticket to the Fargo Municipal Court, tell them you want to contest the ticket. Then take a picture of the parking spot and call the City Prosecutor.
In Minnesota the law is a bit different. A handicapped parking space must simply be identified by a visible sign. Meaning that in the State of Minnesota the situation you described is not clear, it is likely you would be on the hook for the ticket. Good Luck.
