Deceased parents bills

When our parents die are the surviving children responsible for ''bills'' our parents left behind?

The deceased parent's assets must be used to pay these bills before distribution to the heirs can be made.

You will not be responsible for your parent's debts, unless you signed to be be personally responsible. Your parent's estate is responsible to pay their debt, to the extent that funds are available.
