Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Hi guys help me out please I live in Northeast Ohio and I drive a taxi. currently I have 6 points in my license and that is the maximum points the taxi company will take in order to work for them. Last night I ran a stop sign which I didn't see the sign because it wasn't clear stop sign and I got pulled over by a police. the police gave me a ticket he said I ran a stop sign and I was speeding which would be 4 points. I know I ran the stop sign but I was not speeding and if I get this 4 points I will loose my job even if I get 2 points I will still loose my job. the officer told me it's waveable I don't know what he meant. so my question is, can anyone tell me any possible way that I cannot get this points in order to save my job. thank you

You have some options, but unfortunately, you'll need to hire an attorney and go to Court (probably on two separate days) to work it out. In order to stay at 6 points, you'll need to take a remedial driving course to get 2 points taken off your driving record. Plus, depending on the Court involved, how far over the speed limit you were driving, and your driving history, an attorney should be able to get the charges reduced to a 2 point infraction (and possibly no points) so that you stay at 6 points (with the 2 point remedial driving credit). You can find an approved remedial course here: http://www.dps.state.oh.us/drivingschools/Reports.aspx

Good luck.

Very simple fix. You can take a driver safety course that will remove points from your license. Also, you can hire a lawyer and plead not guilty then have your lawyer work out a fine with the prosecutor with a no point violation.
