Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

I have posted many questions on this site, and have even contacted a lawyer for basic answers to my questions. PLEASE...I received a medical release form from a claims adjuster. This release is for my teenager who was involved in a semi truck accident. The semi truck drivers insurance has excepted full liability for the accident. HOWEVER, I dont feel comfortable releasing my sons medical history to a total stranger. Is this REQUIRED from me? Should I be writing a demand letter? What should be involved/included in this letter?

Medical information is private and protected by federal law. The insurance company may have a legitimate right to information relating to the injuries related to the accident but they do not need a blanket release for all medical information.

If you call me at 440-953-2000 and leave your contact information or email me at ([email protected]), I will be happy to send you my free article on "What the insurance company wants vs what they have a right to know!" No obligation or charge and your personal contact information will be kept private.

Regarding a demand letter, I can send you my article on "Settling your claim without and attorney" if you request it also.

Good luck to you and your son

My advice to you would be to hire a personal injury attorney. Without representation, the insurance company of the at-fault truck driver is likely to offer you a much smaller amount of compensation than they would if you had an attorney.
