Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Bankruptcy chapter 7
I am 66 years old and on social security, my wife is 62 and disabled we have many medical bills and credit card bills totalling about 30,000 and an income of 2200.00 per month can we file chapter 7 and discharge our debts without any loss of income we rent our home our car is free of debt.

Your social security and disability income is exempt from attachment by the trustee, but you are only allowed to exempt $1000 in value for your car. The rest of the equity must be purchased back from the trustee if you want to keep the vehicle. Please contact me if I can be of help.
