i filed chapter 7 on 01-24-97 can i file again now and can i do this with out an attorney thank you

It will be at least 2003 before you can file again. You might want to consider a Chapter 13, but you will need to consult with an attorney before you file.

You can only file once every six years. A chapter 13 might help, if you have the income for it.
