Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Can bankruptcy stop wage garnishment already in place?
I cosigned for my son's apartment; he lost his job and was evicted. My wages have been garnished and I am ruined financially. Will filingt bankruptcy remove the garnishment immediately or will it continue until the case is settled?

Section 362 of the Bankruptcy Code automatically stops any legal actions against you including garnishments. The bankruptcy discharge will wipe out the debt.
