In a chapter 7 bankruptcy who and/or what determines whether you get to keep your home?

If your are current on your house payments, your lender should not have any reason to foreclose. If you are not current on your house payments, you may want to consider requesting a loan modification so you can be current at the time of filing bankruptcy.
