Can you file a civil suit against someone who has filed bankruptcy? What chance would I have of collecting any money owed to me by the person who has filed bankruptcy?

Re: Civil Suit
All litigation against someone in bankruptcy is automatically frozen while the bankruptcy is pending. So you can file the action, but the debtors attorney will immediate notify the court, and the action will be stayed. Chances are that any debts that is owed by debtor will be added to the bankruptcy.
