Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Collection after bankruptcy
I have a discharged Chapter 7 that was filed in Ohio. I now live in Tennessee. I'm attempting to rebuild my credit, but I have heard that some creditors, if they approve you for credit, will put in the fine print that your discharged debt will become active again if you take new credit with them. Is that legal? Can it be done?

They can do it, if you agree to pay thr discharged debt through signing the new credit agreement. They can take no independent action, but if you agree to pay it, you will owe it. There is nothing wrong with conditioning new credit on the payment of old debt with the same creditors.
