Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
I divorced my husband 12 yrs ago. he filed bankruptcy 7 yrs ago. I co-signed on a debt during the marriage. now that debtor is trying to collect from me. Is that legel?

If your ex filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy after you were divorced, he was the only party released from dischargeable obligations. You, on the other hand, remain liable on those debts you co-signed unless you have filed bankruptcy or taken some other action to discharge them.
