Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio

Filing Chapter 7

I work full time as a civilian contractor at an Air Force Base. The contract is coming to an end and the NEW company is cutting our pay by $2.15 per hour. This will put me in a huge financial bind. If I file Ch 7, do I have to include ALL debts? I have 2 mortgages which equal approx $100,000 and a bunch of credit cards which equal between $50,000 & $60,000. My vehicles are free and clear of all debt so would I be able to keep them? If I reaffirm my mortgages, will that affect the bankruptcy in any way? How much to file and how much for lawyers fees. Thanks

Re: Filing Chapter 7

You must disclose all that you own, and all that you owe on the petition. If you want to keep the properties the mortgages are on, you must reaffirm them. You will probably have to buy the equity of your vehicles back from the estate, as the exemptions for vehicles in Ohio are limited. The Chap. 7 filing fee is $ 200.00, and my fee is negotiable. Call or email if I can help at [email protected].
