Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio

My husband and I tried to file ch 13 but could not afford the payments so it was dismissed (Our atty kept telling us he'd get the payment lowered but it never happened) So our atty advised us to "just hold off" and not pay our debts until we reached the 8 years after our last ch 7 filing to file ch 7 again. My house is in foreclosure, I have bill collector's calling everyday and I don't know what to do. I've requested a loan modification with my Mortgage co but they keep asking me to send more documents and I don't seem to be getting anywhere with them. Do I have any options? We filed Ch 7 in 2003 which was discharged in October 2003. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
