marriage and bankruptcy
i filed bankruptcy a couple of years ago in joint with my then husband. we are now divorced and i am engaged to someone else. he wants to file bankruptcy at this time. we want to get married now but do not know if my bankruptcy has any bearing on him filing. they are all his past bills and accounts. if we marry would it cause any problems with him filing for bankruptcy? thankyou

No. He would be free to file bankruptcy individually, and your prior bankruptcy would be no bar to his filing. Because the debts are all his, there is no reason why you would have to file a joint bankruptcy petition with him.
