Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
I'm married. My spouse and I both had a reduction in income. He works at a company, and I work in the home as a daycare provider. My spouse and I have a mortgage together. We have 2 unsecured accounts in both our names. Our cars our not shared debts. We each have other credit cards, that are not shared. I would like to know if I could file chapter 7, and still keep our family home if my spouse dosen't file. Will a chapter 7 on myself, effect his credit on the joint accounts? He would still continue to pay these accounts on time. We have no equity in our home, and I owe more on my car than what it is worth. The outcome I'm looking for is eliminating all my unsecured debt, being free from my car and its payments. Can this be done? Thanks
