Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio

i have accummulated debts in my name only. can i file bankruptcy in my name only and not affect my husband's credit. my name is on the home. is it then considered part of my assets? i just want to file on the credit card debt that i have accummulated in my name only.

You and your husband are one economic unit. Under Ohio law, your debts are his and his yours. If you own a home, then it will be considered. If there is equity beyond $10,000 you could lose your house. You need to consult with an attorney about your particular situation.
