Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Time frame from chap 7 filing to discharge
In general, how long from the filing date of the Chap 7 to the discharge? Also, if my wages are currently being garnished can the garnishment be stopped once the case is filed?

Re: Time frame from chap 7 filing to discharge
In general, getting a discharge typically takes 3-4 months once the petition is filed. Once your petition is filed, the automatic stay acts as an injunction, preventing any action taken by any creditor against the debtor or the debtor's property, including wage garnishments.
