Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Wage garnishment and bankruptcy
My wages are being garnished and I have recently filed for bankruptcy. My payroll department was not informed in time for my most recent pay to reflect the change. Would I be refunded the amount that has been garnished for this pay period?

Re: Wage garnishment and bankruptcy
Creditor collections must stop after the bankruptcy is filed. If the money has already been paid over to the creditor, they would need to return the funds to you.
