Attendance Policy
Can disciplinary action be taken against an employee based on attendance if they have not been supplied a copy of the attendence policy?

In Ohio normally one is an employee at will unless there is an employee handbook or a contract that modifies the employment at will doctrine. Under the employment at will doctrine, one can hire and fire an employee for any reason except for discriminatory reasons such as race, gender, religion, or familial. Bottom line, if you follow the handbook and it modifies the employee at will doctrine, feel free to take what action you feel appropriate against the employee.
