Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio

We booked a hotel online through a well known company. The third party site did not ask how many people would be staying. We have 4 children ranging from 21 months to 10 years. Upon checking in we were told the Ohio Fire Marshal only allows up to 5 in a room. The room we booked has two queen beds and a pull out sofa. The manager said it is on the sign on the back of the door but I see nothing on that sign pertaining to Occupancy limits. Can someone direct me to this information? What would someone traveling solo w/5 children do? It seems unreasonable to have to book two rooms! We booked a hotel in Copley/Akron Ohio.

It may be expensive to pay for two rooms but not unreasonable if the Fire Marshall says four is the maximum. I have never been in a "standard" hotel room which allowed more than four persons. But, the fact that the room had two queen-size beds and a pull-out couch leads me to believe that this is not a standard hotel room. I would call corporate and discuss the matter with them. They do not want to lose you as a customer so it is possible they will refund some money.

Good luck.
