Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Business/Independent Contractor Agreement
I worked a hair show for a company in Chicago and I was paid $145.00 when the posting said that I should have been paid $220 flat + $125.00 for the demonstration and prep days. My check should have been over $700.00. The owner is stating that I mis-read the ad and they also took out $90 for commission and $90 in agency fees. That was not specified in the Independent Contractor agreement. However, at the end of the agreement, there is a passage that says, ''If agency is not paid YOU, the Independent Contractor will NOT be paid and you cannot hold the agency liable.'' Is there anything that I can do? Help!

Re: Business/Independent Contractor Agreement
You can always try to sue them in small claims court, and argue for the ultimate value of your services.
