Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
I have been a cleaning franchise owner for some time now. I want to dissolve my relationship with the franchisor, but continue to do business within the industry under my own name. How can I do this without violating the competition clause of the franchise agreement?

Dear Franchisee: It is possible to extricate yourself from your franchise contractual agreement. Much will depend upon the type of business, the duration of the franchise, and, more importantly, the specific words and terms of the agreement, particularly the non-compete portion, among others.
Contact an experienced Attorney to advise and guide you, in order to avoid liability and an expensive lawsuit.
Good luck.
Sincerely, J. Norman Stark, Cleveland, Ohio.
