It is unclear to me whether you are in Ohio or not. Your zip code provided is Chicago. I cannot tell you about Illinois law. Under Ohio law, if it applies in your situation (I do not know that it does), the answer to your question would depend on how it is advertised. Some language creates what we call a "unilateral contract" where all you need to do is accept or pay or whatever the offer required and they are obligated to perform as advertised. For example, something using language like "first come, first served" or other limiting words might, but not in all cases will, create a contract as soon as you do what is required by the advertisement language.

Other advertisements are simply that, advertisements, not contracts, and they do not obligate the seller. However, false advertising is a possible consumer law violation in Ohio if the good or service advertised was going to be used for personal, family, or household purposes by a consumer. I can't counsel you about the specifics of your situation without discussing the facts more in depth, such as what the item was, what it was being purchased for, etc.
