Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
fundraising
We have a non profit organization and is in the process of doing afundraiser we have our tac ID number from the state of ohio and also have our incorporation papers already we just submitted our 501c3 papers but have not gotten a deternination letter from the IRS can we still us the tax id number from the state to solicit funds from private investors.

I believe that you can, provided that you keep the appropriate records as to what comes in, and where it goes, so you can have the board of directors ratify what is done when the IRS finally acts.
