Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Interest on Royalties Owed?
I was underpaid royalties for a book. But I didn't catch the error right away. I finally convinced the publisher I was owed money.
The publisher eventually cut a check for the difference of what I was paid and what I was owed. But during the months I was underpaid and sorting things out, I could have invested the money and made a few thousand.
Since the publisher made the error, can I legally expect them to pay me interest to compensate for my loss on potential investments?

Re: Interest on Royalties Owed?
Potential investment income is too speculative. If you are speaking of interest income, this is a reasonable request.
