Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
locked out
i recently opened a business with a friend of mine everything was an oral agreement. At first they said I pay nom bills for 1 yr and hid wife and I worked together and split the profits after about two weeks he asked me for rent and utility payments which i did because i knew he had lost alot of money from his past business venture. Since then i have been there the business has tripled. Last monday his wife came to me and said she was taking control and i had two months to find a new location for myself. Saturday I showed up and the locks were changed and she told me nothing in there was mine and that i owed her money for sales tax which shew was supposed to do last month and never did just handed all the paperwork to me and said I had to do it. I work there 85 vhours a week and make around 400 dollars per week because i am constantly purchasing new things and recruiting sports teams by paying backers fees to build up the business. I have no written contractso do i have any recourse

Dear Puzzled Businessperson:
You need a good lawyer, right now! ASAP. Your first mistake was in not retaining counsel to put everything in writing, and have it all signed by all parties, to cover your assets!!!
Seek legal representation at once.
Good luck.
Sincerely,
J. Norman Stark
