Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Marriage License
Is it legal for my employer to ask me for a copy of my marriage license so I can cover my spouse on our insurance. I have been providing the insurance for him from this company for over 12 years and now they want proof that I am married. I work in Ohio but the company is headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Re: Marriage License
Yes, the document is a public record. They have a right to know who they are required to cover as a condition by the insurance company.
