Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
We had my mother's car towed to a mechanic for a quote on repairs. The mechanic repaired the car without giving a quote or getting a signature to work on it. He says we can not have the car until we pay the fee of $600. He even put in new spark plugs and wires that had been done two weeks before. What are our options?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say it appears this mechanic violated almost every possible rule. You need to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Ohio Attorney General's Office. They handle consumer complaints about auto mechanics. Their toll-free number is 800-282-0515, or their website is www.ag.state.oh.us Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
