Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Pay range for small practice
I am considering working for a small law office in Westerville, Ohio. I think I would be a good fit with the practice. However, the one owner who runs the office plans to pay $10 for the front office position. Job duties include answering phones, assisting clients, typing, and other duties.
This is a step down for me since I have been an Executive Secretary for a non-profit agency for 10 years. However, I am very much interested in the legal field and would like to work in a small office.
What salary or benefits is this person required to pay his employees? Or, what laws does he need to follow in regard to his employees?

Re: Pay range for small practice
Other than minimal wage, an employer may pay what they want. As a Westerville attorney myself, pay ranges for Westerville for executive secretaries probably range from $10-$15/hour. No other benefits need to be offered for a firm with only a few employees.
